That man is backing it up on a night like this shouting you don't love me

An eleborate title I hear you think, well, let me explain it.

I have chosen this title and it's fault is a new album from a female Dutch(hey, it ain't much if it ain't dutch ) singer under the name of Caro Emerald.
Her sound is described as 'a mix of 1950's inspired ballroom jazz, cinematic tangoes, groovin' jazz tracks, infectious mambo's and banging beats' and I must say, they are really spot on.
I'm listening to it as we speak, and I must confess that to the tunes of 'That Man' and 'Just One Dance' I couldn't help but moving and snapping my fingers to the catchy beat.
And then you go to some nice relaxing tunes of 'Riviera Life' and swing slowly back into the catchiness with 'Back It Up'.
The last one also happened to be her first single out here in the low lands, sometime last summer, to which I met her sound... and I loved it, but as always, lazy old me forgot whom she was(never caught her name on the radio on the work, always something coming up between it) and as the single got played less and less I slowly forgot about her, but enjoyed it when the track boomed through the ether.

and then, this year, her second song was released. And following closely was her album 'Deleted Scenes From The Cutting Room Floor', which I ordered, the first real(as in touchable, not digital) album for me in YEARS. though it will be gathering dust on my shelf as my harddrive is getting to play the songs to dust I still feel it's worth it. I just came to song number 5 and only for the first four songs I'd buy it, and her current hitsingle has still to come... it's just that good.

I don't know if the album is available outside the nethies, but for your sake I really hope it is, you'll be craving for it when you hear the selected songs below(and belive me when I say i had a hard time picking the best songs out of it *cough-also-I-picked-it-for-the-title-cough*)
as for the music, I now have moved on to number 6, 'Absolutely Me', leaving behind 'The Other Women'. 'Absolutely Me' so far is the most 'heavy' mixed song on the album. It's followed by a very classic(save for the beat) sounding 'You Don't Love Me'
I am also very biased to pick this song as the best on the album, but that's mostly because it sports heavy trumpet use... about my absolute music weakness. Yeah that's right, I like _almost_ every song with a trumpet in it (a real one, not those fake digital ones ) it is my Achilles' Heel I say!

And Oh eM Gee! 'Dr. Wanna Do' is awesome sounding with more trumpets and a louis Armstrong voice in it shouting doo-ba-doo!  just love it I just picked my 4th song to show to you! by the way, for those who didn't notice it: I am typing this as I hear the full album for the first time so I might sound somewhat incoherent, it's the music!

and the Doctor is followed by a very up beat 'Stuck' which, as most songs on the album, is making me rock my chair while only stopping me this close from singing along out loud(what's stopping me is the fact I don't know the text, but that'll be fixed in a few days )
After the happy 'Stuck' is a more gravely/French sounding 'I Know That He's Mine'... well, not really gravely and not really french either it has just one of those accordions and it's really slow compared to 'Stuck', then again, everything on the album is rather slow compared to that. but what I mean is that it's a more serious sounding song, both in the text and the music. Nonetheless it is still a song that feels right in place on the album, a nice change of the pace so to say.
What follows this song is her current hit, which I carefully, but not on purpose(or did I?), avoided to name so far. it is called 'On a Night Like This' and it just makes me want to dance to it... that or get a girl to dance cheek to cheek, this one is also sported below.

and unfortunately, the last song on the album (seriously, put more of this epicness on the next one!), 'The Lipstick On His Collar' is sounding somewhat serious and cool, not as serious as 'I Know He's Mine', but more along the way of the other song I really love(it was the one popping up a few seconds after the first tunes), Tom Jones - Sex Bomb. I just place her right up there with this song.

to conclude something that doesn't need/want (strike through which is not applicable) a conclusion; this album is made of Pure Epicness with a good spoon of Awesomeness and coated with Pure Gold.
Should Caro or one of her staff ever stumble across this blog and read through all of my rambling to this very line, I'd like to say: Go worldwide and kick some butt! You really rock with this album! WOOH!

and now for the forementioned songs I promised you lot:

First off; 'That Man'

followed by 'Backing It Up'

And here you go for 'On A Night Like This'

and lastly closed by 'You Don't Love Me'

oh alright, and a teaser in the form of Tom Jones - Sex Bomb:

Tha-tha-that's All Folks!

All Points Bulletin

Another feature, this time about a game I've been following lately, namely All Points Bulletin(hereafter APB).

I got my first looks at the game very early on, through some site(not sure where) and thought it looked cool and then I lost sight of it for a while until it popped up about a year or so later on some sites just after they won their E3 nominee awards, I saw the trailer(just below here) and got hooked from that moment on...
Before I continue I'll show you guys the trailer so you get a better picture as to what I am talking about(and yes, I'm also trying to asimmilate you to get hooked....did I just use the word assimilate? ah well, enjoy)

actually this is not the trailer I saw, but I think this one is even better
ves around this city, San Paro, in which all hell has broken loose, the normal police is a corrupt, shambled force not capable of dealing with the enormous explosion in crime. With the most recent outburst's startpoint laying in the assassination of late Mayor John Derren by Luke Waskawi. In his footsteps his daughter Jane Derren decided she would try to fill her father's shoes and continue his work of cleaning up the city. After she was elected she quickly saw that the corrupted SPPD wasn't up to the job, and as such Mayor Jane Derren issued the City Security Act(CSA) so other organizations can help to try and get the city out of it's misery and once more into the earthly paradise it used to be.
Almost immediately two different Enforcing organizations stood up, the steadfast Preatorians and the knights-in-blazing-armor Prentiss Tigers, after whom many other, smaller organizations took up arms to defend their beloved city. The Preatorians are a well equipped, somewhat corporate Policeforce, led by the bright Justin Teng. These well equipped enforcers are cleaning out the town whereever they go.
The Prentiss Tigers are the media's favourite, they like to clean the badguys up with flashy moves and actions, all while staying in the spotlight.
On the other side of the bars you have two major Criminal organizations, the G-Kings and the Bloodroses, these foul gangs are big time players and an twisted example to numerous smaller gangs.
It is believed it is basically between these 4 players that the fight will occur unless the crippled police force can back on it's feet on time. About these two major gangs there is litle known, but what is known is that the G-Kings are a group of thugs rumoured to be from the Gresty neighbourhood and they are trying to pull down the law and everything doing with government, it is rumoured they are supported by the garbage millionaire Arlon Benjamin, but so far the police has failed to get rigid evidence he actually does so.
The other major gang are the Bloodroses, they are a group of wealthy kids, or so is rumoured, operating mainly in the Waterfront District. They are known for their fast and loud heists of the ports in that district.
The individual enforcers(the players) can create their own organizations to support the bigger players, or remain solo should they choose so. The criminals are known to do the same on their side, pledging to the bigger players for support and protection.
But for the rest, there isn't much of a story, which is great because it let's players (and clans) create their own story matching up to the bits of story found around the city.

As you might have guessed from my little background story just there I am already picking the enforcer side(must be my Lawful Good alignment...), to make it even better yet, I've already sided myself with a already existing clan of Enforcers the San Paro Sheriff's Departement.
My character I decided I'm going to make, Howard Merten Wolfe, has a Bio already(which is a first to me, making a char before the game) whom joined the SPSD when the search of his brother and sister became to hard to continue with his meager funds. He had heard through some arrested criminal back in his hometown that there was an influx of criminals moving towards San Paro, with the added note he noticed a clear brother and sister looking a bit like him amongst them. The criminal was a recruiter of sorts who lured young thugs, or hopeless, bored youngsters, to San Paro to live a life of crime. As such he quited his local PD and moved out, living of his savings in search of them. With no luck and his funds running out he looked for a job and found one with the SPSD, still able to make a difference to the crimewave in San Paro. He also quickly rose through the ranks to the rank of Sergeant with his own squad below him.
Now for a bit about the SPSD, they are a light to medium RolePlaying Clan, which means they do encourage RolePlay, but it's not strict or mandatory. This is their story:
The SPSD was first started in the year 1870, around 20 years after the city of San Paro was founded. The SPSD has always had the jursidiction of the City of San Paro and the surrounding area within the County. When the city grew bigger and bigger the SPSD focused more on the surrounding county as a new police force was erected for the city itself, the SPPD.
In the hours after the assassination of John Derren, the city of San Paro was thrown into chaos, and the SPSD was stepped in to take over basic law enforcement as the SPPD slipped into obscurity. The department was spread thin, and the Sheriff quit and left the city. Sheriff Adams was hired by Mayor Derren, and immediately began a recruitment drive. Today, the SPSD effectively allows the citizenry of San Paro to live their lives in safety.

We are a clan that act as a real Sheriff's Departement, meaning we will get police uniforms and cruisers when the game get's opened to the bigger public. But, there is a Closed Beta right now, and those of the SPSD who made it in already set it up and we are rumoured to be one of the biggest, if not the biggest of all, enforcer groups. We are even mentioned in the podcast FortheLore by the developers, Chris 'Deum' Collins and Stephen 'Kitkat' Hewitt around the 23rd minute. They find it cool too see them pulling up in their uniforms and cruisers when they catch the bad guys.
At this point I'd like to point you to the official site and their podcasts if you want to know more. Maybe I will see you all in game, maybe I won't. Whatever the case, expect to hear more about it in my blogs as it seems like the perfect game for me, combining FPS with a hint of RPG and a good big spoon of MMO.

Now for some songs(there are too many too name, so I selected quite a few, and most are featured in APB):

First off, it's the bullys of your sound, the Audio Bullys - Gimme That Punk:

Second one is Johny's got a Boom Boom from Imelda May;

Third off is Ghost of a Thousand - Bright Lights:

The fourth song I really like is beth Rowley - Beautiful Tomorrow:

Fifth up is Boys Noise - Lava Lava (believe me if I say the song's not as corny as the name of it)

Sixth off is Clutch - Mercury (awesome rock!)

Ohnoes!

I just realised I haven't posted he following song!
which should be shameful to me, as this is THE song that basically triggered me into loving music the way I do now(it is the song I remember liking the longest):
RMB - Spring

The song is from the 90s somewhere, and the oldest memory of it is from listening it by a friend and falling in love with it instantaneously, ofcourse I had it on tape the next minute or so, and it remained in my tapedeck for a long time, then i lost it only to find it again a few years later, when my collection was growing, it gained a solid top marking position on my 'Songs to like'-board.
I just skipped through my blogs and I can't find it anywhere, so i just reposted it here.

and while I am at the period I'm gonna post a few more 'Happy Hardcore' songs you may or may not know.
Dune - Million miles away from home

Nakatomi - sing a song

Nakatomi - Children of the Night

and now for something totally different!

right....and now for an old song!
The Trashman - The Surfin' Bird

This post is also an excuse to give you all part 2 of the story

Go read the story!

and for me..... *shuffles off to bed*

Stories

As some of you might know I'm a loon with too many stories running in my head(which are, btw, rather regularly refreshed) of which is the downside they are never finished(well, most of them anyway).
Sometimes it's to blame due to my interest field at that time, sometimes cause it's game related and I quit playing the game. And other times just because I'm a lazy bum who doesn't want to finish the story(most of the time).
I had(in some dark, ancient, almost forgotten past) a forum on this very website which supported and encouraged the writing of stories. unfortunately that little project stranded(pick one of the above said reasons) and was forgotten.
This time I have another story in my head I really want to share it with you all, but not through forums or mails, but through the blogs, you may notice the new 'category' right next to the title.
All you will need to do to read the story is to click the linky down this post which says 'Read the rest'.

Righto, now for some music I find fitting:

This time I delved into some anime OSTs(well, I had it for a while) and I proudly present you:
Nujabes - 1st Samurai  from Samurai Champloo(awesome anime! go check it out!)

Second of, I'm not sure if I posted it before but still:
Combichrist - Get Your Body Beat (clip is from the cool Gene Generation)

With the third song there comes a BIG warning! ¡¡This stuff is highly addictive! play at your own risk!!
It's a remix from  a dance song(Scandinavian) called Caramelldansen (be glad this one has an ending!):

And now for more calm music(hopefully)
both the songs are from the Anime Eureka Seven, both are futured in the smae episode, and unlike most other songs I have kept the related videos on, so you can browse the other music
Ninety-Three - Takkyu Ishino

Get it by your hands - Hiroshi Watanabe(aka Quadra)

that's it for now, enjoy the songs, and enjoy the story(hopefully) and comment on the story!

Confronting a weeping guitar

*blows the dust of the blog, wrinkles his nose and sneezes*
Wooh...that's been a while... does this thing still work? *taps the blogging machine*
hm...seems so...

Hello there, it has been a while *waves a spiderweb away* okay, it has been a long time...
So, seeing this blog is about Conan again... let's look at the post below here

Lot's of things has happened in the mean time, some of which even I couldn't predict:
First off, my 'main' Ganchin is collecting a lot of dust, it's not that I don't want to play him...it's just that I can't find the right mood to RP him, eg. He's a well aged mercenary(late 30s) which alone makes him the opposite of me, counting in age that is. So he's a real challenge to play, one that I'm not willing to pick up for some reason.
Second off, the slave I discussed below has had a huge twist. He was supposed to infiltrate in a guild called "The House of the Rose", a guild which has fallen due to various reasons. And atop of that his Master went MIA for a few weeks, so seeing I've never heard of him in a big month I decided to take my alt and alter it for myself.
Dragevio Vicinti is now a free, young warrior hailing from the western part of Aqualonia, Schondara. He has traveled to the Pearl of the West, Old Tarantia, on an assignment for the military, during his leave he met a few folks from the Ordo Templari, which he joined after coming back from a campaign near the Nemedian borders. A campaign he doesn't talk about and no one asks him about.
He has a strong sense of justice and wrong doing, and he bites into something that get's to him like a bulldog in his favorite squishytoy.
One such thing is currently happening to him and is RPed and written out.

Lastly we have Raue, she is like Ganchin gathering dust, but for different reasons. She is part of a somewhat close knit family(as slave) and one of the members playing a preggy woman hasn't been playing due to RL reasons, so for that reason she is gathering dust(her character is really subdued and is not/will not leave the house without permission, which makes interaction with others rather limited)

Now for the music!
This time I have gathered two styles of music most won't hear in the same room in a lifetime, but I'm stubborn and I like all music so there!

First off, a song which most of you probably will know, if not, go shame yourself!
It's the Beatles - While My Guitar Gently Weeps

The second song is from Otep, a band most of you won't know, and definately don't want to know. So if you don't like metal/protest songs I recommend skipping to the special down below.
The song is called Confrontation and is(from what I gather) a protest song against the Government and war:

This weeks special is roasted Peking duck with a slight sauce of cinna.....wait, wrong text! *looks around shifty eyed* Who writes these things anyways?
*cough* right, this weeks special is a new band I discovered through the Templari, their called Abney Park and classify themselves as a Steampunk band.
Their music range all over the place, from Persian tinted to ye olde Pirate songs all fitted in a Rock jacket with a helmet of the Victorian ages, the song I have picked out from them is "Dark and twisty road"
(don't mind the video, it was the best quality sound I could find. DO mind! the graphics are violent and might be inappropriate!)
