Talking about Dungeons and Dragons

A few weeks ago some friend of mine had this crazy idea, pool up some money and buy some DnD books and start playing it.
Never played it, but it sounded fun the way he described it. So I went ahead and tagged along.

Last Wednesday was our first play through, well, we set up all our characters and did a small encounter and city thingy to get used to things. And it was fun! I play this Dwarf Cleric, Lir Grayanvil, and it’s a proper Dwarf!
It has a dislike for those tree-hugging pointy ears, a disdain for anything not Dwarven and a love for Dwarven Ale(other ales are able to pass). It’s rather fun to play him(it does help I am somewhat a Dwarf by nature :P)
I rolled for my statistics(I blame Didi for Intimidating me into it(her intimidation is too high…)) and got out pretty damn good. Even got top marks when rolling for a weapon, so I now have a military grade Warhammer(and my first action with it was to outright obliterate the first Kobold I saw *grins*(it made a nice *splutter* sound effect as well)) I put to good use.
As we are just started I will keep you posted on the highlights of his life and adventures, just like I do with a LARP.

For the DnD adventure I also ordered 2 sets of dice(that is, 1d4, 1d6, 1d8, 1d10, 1d12, 1d20 and a percentage dice), a Gray and Black Dwarven dice set and a Beige and Black Earthdawn dice set and a dicebag(Dwarven, of course).
Both sets look very nice, the details are excellent, and they lay perfectly in my hands. I’d have to compare them to the standard dice my mate has, but from guessing now I’d say they are slightly heavier. All in all, I like them a lot.

Now for my always present music.

I’ll start off with a song I learned to know in Saints Row:The Third; Heavy Young Heathens – Sha La La La La:

Next off is a song that’s playing while I’m writing this, The Charlie Daniels Band – The Devil Went Down To Georgia:

And now for something different, Blackstreet – No Diggity:

And closing off with a rock song, Amon Amarth – Pursuit of the Vikings:

ok…closing of with this really weird song found on youtube, Heavy Metal Farmer(don’t ask):
